What type of sessions do you offer?
I offer lifestyle sessions specializing newborn, children, family, and senior photography. My sessions aren’t a specific amount of time; it’s how much time is needed to tell your story, usually around 90 minutes.
* Mini Sessions are offered occasionally on a specific date.
Do you have a session fee?
Yes I have a session fee of $150. This investment includes:
* Your full session (for a single family).
* The creation and editing of your photographs.
* A private online gallery to view your images and share them with family and friends.
Do you offer digital files?
Yes. Digital files are what I want when I have my family’s pictures taken and I want you to have them too. The creative fee includes a limited print release. You are welcome to print your pictures as many times as you wish up to an 8×12. Pictures larger than 8×12 can be ordered through me or you have the option of purchasing a digital file upgrade. I have a list of labs that I highly recommend and opt for the “turn off auto-correct” feature.
*Prices are subject to change.
What other products do you offer?
Fine Art Gallery Wraps
Larger than 8×12 Digital Images
Photo Fusion Slideshow Movie
When should I book a session?
Ideally, newborn sessions should be booked when baby is around one month old. Family sessions usually book 4 weeks in advance.
How do I book a session?
You can call, email, or fill out the “Contact” page to book your session. A $50 nonrefundable retainer fee is required to hold the date. The fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable and is applied to the package of your choice. The creative fee is due in full at the time of your session. You are responsible to for picking up any products ordered.
Where/when does the session take place?
Newborn sessions are taken in your family’s home usually in the master bedroom, nursery, and/or the family room. Depending on the lighting in your home and baby’s schedule, sessions are best scheduled in the mornings or early afternoons. For family sessions we will work together to find an ideal location for your family’s photographs. Since life happens at your home, this is a perfect location. When you’d prefer to have an outdoor adventure documented, I have many location suggestions within the Denver metro area and beyond. I only schedule outdoor park sessions 1-2 hours before sunset. Urban sessions are offered all year long and can be scheduled for anytime of the day.
What can I expect on the day of my session?
Sessions typically last 90-120 minutes for a newborn session and 90ish minutes for storytelling sessions. I only schedule one session per day to focus on the family I am serving. This leaves us plenty of time for baby feedings, diapering, etc, in a non-rushed and casual environment. (Dads that read this-I promise it’ll be okay:) I encourage you to play with your family as you would if I weren’t around. I do a minimal amount of suggested posing that will create flattering portraits. Instead of “sit here, do that”, I throw out suggestions that get your family interacting with each other that allow for real moments to happen naturally. If you have young children, naps are always a good thing on the day of your session, as well as bringing along snacks. This trick works well for dads, too!
What should I wear?
It’s best to dress in comfortable clothes with fun colors. I encourage families to stay away from matching outfits and coordinate colors instead. Avoid busy patterns and large logos. I also remind moms to be aware of their neckline as you will be down on the ground playing with your family.
What happens after the session?
A few weeks after your session you will receive an email with an invitation to your private gallery. A gallery typically has 30-60 images for full sessions and 10-20 for mini sessions. You are welcome (and encouraged) to share your gallery with family and friends. The online gallery is active for 10 days. Your pictures are stored for one year from the date of the session. Galleries can be reopened for reorders for a $35 charge. All images will be deleted from the system after the year has expired.
