I am so excited to introduce the newest KGP baby! I’ve known mom for years:) In fact she babysat the kiddos that were in my hubby and I’s wedding the night of the rehearsal. Grandma sang in the wedding and grandpa married us! We go waaaay back and this family is woven with ours:) And I think in the history of grandmas there has never been a more anticipated baby- except maybe for my boys’ two grandmas;) Newborn sessions are so special for me and important too! I can’t wait for little baby girl C to see how much love her family had for her from day 1. Welcome to the world, baby girl.

Congratulations B family!

What a year it was for me! I had the privilege of photographing new families and making new connections! I met brand new babies and saw other babies that are growing too fast! …Graduating seniors, beloved bliss, and lots and lots of smiling families! It was a great year! Here are some of my favorites from 2011…

Thank you 2011 clients for your love and support!
I am currently booking for 2012! Call or email to chat about your future session with KGP! Kaela Green | 720.333.9011 | kaelagreenphoto@gmail.com
I had the privilege of photographing three of the most beautiful young ladies I’ve ever met! They were photogenic with lovely personalities. This family was amazing to work with and I am so blessed that I get to take pictures of beautiful people that want to preserve the most important thing: family. Meet the G family:

Thank you, G family! It was so great to meet you! I’ll have your gallery up soon!

The S family has been my “oldest” clients. They were my first session waaaaaay back when KGP first started. They certainly are a favorite family both in front of my camera as well as when I’m not shooting. In fact, mom was one of my first friends when I moved to Colorado after college and the first to welcome me back to Colorado when we returned in ’08. I even have some pictures dating 9+ years ago rocking Young Married Life game night, but I’ll keep those tucked away in my scrapbooks:)

How cute is this? Everyone loves a good pout?

Even better when she smiles!

Her older sister has one of the sweetest spirits as I think this picture shows.

And the boys…they are all boy! They gave me quite a workout!

Thank you S family! I’ll have your gallery up soon!

I have been so, so excited to share this family with you! I met Lýdia some months ago at our Friday morning bible study (love). She was about 20 weeks along and since I joined the study at the halfway point, it was only recently that I learned their little baby J is a true miracle.
Lýdia is from Slovakia. Jared is from Denver. They met abroad while Jared was on a mission trip. In 2009 they were married and now they live in Thornton. They wanted to start a family soon after they were married. Unfortunately, Lýdia was having horrible pain with severe endometriosis-which worsened after she moved to the States because of all the sugar and preservatives that is in our food. After visiting with doctors and specialists they were told they were likely never to have children. However, God had a different plan for them:) When Lýdia joined the bible study, she shared her heart’s desire to have a child with her group. Not by chance, there was a dietitian among the ladies in her group. She met with Lýdia and gave her a new and extreme diet to help the endometriosis. It wasn’t long that God answered their prayers…with much anticipation and patience I introduce to you baby J:

Congratulations on your new baby boy!

I am a wife. I am a mother. And I am a photographer. There are so many hats that I wear that change on any given day, but last Wednesday I got to be AJ’s mommy and a photographer. My son’s preschool was studying community helpers and I was asked to talk about what I do. How cool is that? We talked a little about how we all carry around our own cameras, our eyes! Then we used our “cameras” to draw a picture of something that is important to us right now. My son drew a twisty-turny tornado and a monster truck:)

So how does a lifestyle photographer help a community? I take pictures that tell stories…
I told them how important pictures are and how they don’t just show us what we looked like when we were in preschool, but lifestyle photography shows us a little bit about who we were. For example this picture:

My son has recently gotten into playing legos. He loves creating different trucks or anything that goes “vroom”!
Then in this picture:

This would not win a competition by any standard, but the value it has for me is priceless. I know someday I’ll forget about the Toy Story light up shoes that were one of the first pair he could put on himself. I know I’ll forget that he LOVES that shirt even though it’s 2 sizes too big! And I will probably even forget that he always sits on his knees, but with precious pictures that lifestyle photography provides I will remember. And when I do, I’ll smile…

I first heard about the Beloved Movement at WPPI 2010. It was started by a photographer named Jesh De Rox. Although I missed his class (insert sob), I heard about it from everyone, and I mean everyone. Literally, everywhere I went after his class people were talking about this new movement simply called, Beloved. There was such a buzz about this Beloved Movement that I had to hear the whole story. I found an online link that allowed me to listen to his class and I was again so bummed I didn’t see his class in person. But even listening to it online gave me chills.
What a concept-what a perfect fit to the type of photography I aspire to capture.
Beloved is defined by the official Beloved website as: A beloved portrait session is not just a photo shoot, it’s a celebration of love and genuine communications. These images serve as a doorway to bring two people back to the beginning of their journey together. We invite couples to share a piece of themselves and capture valuable moments through the art of photography.
As a lifestyle photographer, I try to educate people about this unique genre of photography. It’s not a picture or a snapshot. It’s not about what to wear or where it should take place. Of course, when you’re spending a chunk of change on photography- because let’s face it, professional photography is an investment- you want to have a nice location and have cute, colorful outfits for the kids. But it’s so much more than the color of the leaves and whether or not you have a good hair day! Lifestyle photography is about documenting life. Not only what you looked like, but how you loved. That smile your two year old makes when you tickle him. The way your daughter looks at you when you’re not looking. The way your beloved looks at you when remembering the day he wanted to spend the rest of his life loving only you. That is what lifestyle sessions capture. It’s not a location that makes a photograph beautiful, it’s the family, the love, the connection.
Beloved Sessions are genuine moments between a husband and a wife-not twisted poses that make you feel unnatural. They are a celebration of new love and of old love.
