The W Family :: Brighton Lifestyle Maternity Photographer

I love to document the anticipation of a new baby!  There are very few moments in life that can compare to the feelings that maternity brings.  I remember the feeling of being pregnant and what I looked like (HUGE) but I want to remember more than what my post-kid brain will inevitably forget.  Enter lifestyle photography:)  Meet the W family- so special to me and my family.  Our hubbies work together and their son and mine (third) are only months apart.  And they happen to live down the street!  So am I excited that they are having another boy?  Just a little ;)   And they are one of my favorite families to photograph!  Take a look to see why:)

What child doesn’t love the airplane game???

He’s the BIG brother!!

Don’t you love kids?  Just when you think you’re alone…

…the sneak…

…the ATTACK!!!

The world awaits your arrival, sweet boy…

Congratulations, W’s!  We can’t wait to meet him!

The P Family

Meet the P family:

Here’s their story:

Miss R is an artist and loves math.  Miss N has a great laugh.  And while mom says she’s shy, I got to see a very energetic side:)  Mr. G just turned one and is quite a ham for the camera, as you will see below.  And then we have Mr. B.  Mom shared this with me before our session:

“B is loving and cares for everyone and everything around him.  B has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and had his first open heart surgery at six days old.  He has had a total of three open heart surgeries, multiple Heart Cath labs, one surgery on the outside of his right lung, a g-tube, multiple PICC lines, and now a Broviac line.  He is technically diagnosed Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, Failed Fontan and is now listed for a heart transplant.  He is afraid of pictures, so don’t use that word.”

What brought this sweet family to my attention was the last sentence.   Since B has had so many x-rays, the word “picture” really scares him.  I’ve met many children that don’t like having their photo taken, but I’ve never met one that was afraid to.  This tugged at my heart strings and I wanted to help.  Since photography doesn’t have to be stiff and scary (well, I am a little scary:) I contacted the P family and asked if I could have a session with them-just take pictures of them being a family together-lifestyle photography.  Here is a little glimpse into the P family…

B loves to help the family dog learn new tricks.

“Stay puppy.”

He thinks it’s pretty funny:

There is joy.

Such joy.

They cook together.

And Miss R is learning to flip pancakes:)

There is love.
