The M fam is no stranger in front of my camera! We’ve had three happy years together:) I’ve been photographing their three little ones since their youngest was only months old and I can’t believe how big they’ve all gotten. It’s enough to realize how fast paced life moves. Which is exactly why I love lifestyle photography! Lifestyle photography is so much more than a portrait session-it’s enjoying time together as a family and remembering the little things that make your family unique. And uniqueness is one of things I love most about this family!! Mom had this great idea to head over to the CU campus in Boulder, CO as she and her boys (and girl) are HUGE Buff fans. This was difficult for me as I am a UNL alumni and bleed Husker Red, but I survived;) And the CU campus is incredibly beautiful and I can’t wait to have another session there again soon-did I really just say that?!? We walked all around the campus- played, smiled, and shot pictures. We ended up at the stadium entrance to finish the session with some really fun stylized CU Black and Gold lifestyle photos. I am blessed to have had a passion and hobby become a way I can help supplement my income. In my short year.5 of business, I have met some amazing photographers! In this business I have found that there are basically two types of categories for photographers. I don’t have names for them, so you can name them-if you’d like. The first one is the group that sticks to their own business-doesn’t care to share, network, build relationships, etc. This first category is who I found when I first purchased my camera and they were scary, and I was afraid to ask questions and try to learn from them. The second group I found a little latter (and I am forever grateful I did!) This second group is simply amazing! They are not only willing to share and answer questions, they are eager. They see value in a group of photographers that learn from each other, bounce ideas around, and the overall idea is that in working together we can make this business even better; together being the key. I have learned so much from them and I wouldn’t be the photographer I am without their knowledge and willingness to invest in a little ol’ photographer like myself!
Enter, Dee Lucas, from Fall Child Photography. She’s in the second group. I met her about a year ago in a networking situation. I liked her instantly and I’m sure she thought that I was this crazy lady that asks WAY too many questions. But she humored me again and again and today we are friends. In fact, I’ve heard a word she uses that makes me laugh every time she uses it, “frienemy”. It’s the idea that while we are competitors in the biz, we are first friends.
A while back she took some rockin’ lifestyle pictures of my family (one that I have in my family room that’s literally 2ftx3ft!!) and recently I had the pleasure of returning the favor. I wanted to post a few to share. Meet the L family…
Dates for the Fall Mini-Sessions are set!
Can you believe that summer is almost over??? Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, crisp morning, all the amazing colors, Pumpkin Spiced Lattes!!! I’m so excited to announce that KGP will be having Mini-Sessions this year! You have your choice of two types of locations: nature or urban. I haven’t announced the location of our nature session because I want to wait to see what type of fall it turns out to be…you just never know in Colorado! Our urban sessions will take place in downtown Denver, of course:)
If you’d like to book a session, call or email me (kaelagreenphoto@gmail.com) your 1st and 2nd time choices. I will book time slots first come, first serve and I do expect that they will go fast! A non-refundable deposit of $50 is due at the time of the booking via Paypal or check to reserve your time and day. This will be applied to the package of your choice. These mini-sessions are open to families (up to 5 people), seniors, and couples:)
